2025 Bicentennial Season Send Off!

IN THE EIRE CANAL’S BICENTENNIAL YEAR, CORN HILL NAVIGATION HAD A BANNER YEAR! THANK YOU!
As the boats are docked and another wonderful season sails into the sunset, Corn Hill Navigation is feeling extra thankful! What a year it’s been — filled with sunshine, laughter, learning, and so many friendly faces aboard Sam Patch and Riverie. We extend our thanks to everyone who supported (and continues to support) our 2025 season.
This season, with your support and donations, we completed over 1,200 cruises on the Erie Canal and Genesee River. A record-breaking 24,717 riders boarded Sam Patch and Riverie this year. Our passengers included more than 4,000 local elementary students who experienced history on a Sam Patch lock cruise or evaluated the health of the Genesee on a Riverie science cruise.
We are deeply grateful to our generous donors — the individuals, foundations, businesses, corporations, and government agencies. We are honored by the families and individuals who rode aboard Sam Patch and/or Riverie, our event attendees, and everyone who helped make this season a success.
A special thanks goes out to our dedicated staff, tireless volunteers, and board members — your hard work and passion made every trip, program, and community event possible.
A particular shout-out to the Rochester City School District and surrounding school districts for allowing us to educate and excite school children about the sustainability of the Erie Canal and adjoining Genesee River. We also want to acknowledge our broader community for turning out, cheering us on, and believing in our mission.
We’re humbled by the outpouring of support this season. Every ticket sold, every donation made, and every volunteer hour given helps us as we strive toward our mission statement “to improve and sustain the Erie Canal and Genesee River for current and future generations through awareness, education, conservation, and enjoyment.”
In this Bicentennial year of the Erie Canal, we have been honored to create memories for families, friends, students, and visitors. We wish everyone involved with CHN a very joyful, healthy, and safe holiday season. We are grateful for your support. Thank you!
