Meet the Corn Hill Navigation Team – Crew Member Evan Miller-Watelet
Meet Evan Miller, crew member. Evan has been with Corn Hill Navigation (CHN) for three years. When asked what other jobs or interests he’s had, Evan replies, “A lot of things! I’ve been a server, a bartender, a delivery driver, and more. I’m also a singer/songwriter, and I’ve sung with wedding bands quite a bit.” Plus, he’s also an actor and musician. Evan also plays Dungeons and Dragons as well as Magic: the Gathering. He Lindy Hops with Groove Juice Swing on Wednesday nights! (editor’s note: WOW, Evan, you “ROC!”)
Regarding CHN, he wants people to know how dedicated CHN is to teaching children about a very important part of New York’s history. He says, “The Erie Canal built this state, and knowing that history is very important.”
As a CHN crew member, Evan likes meeting our cruising guests (one time he met one of the lawyers who worked for the County when the Great Embankment collapsed in 1974). However, he especially likes seeing passengers’ reactions to his rendition of the Erie Canal song.
Of note, Evan has saved both a mouse and a bird that had fallen into Lock 32!
