Meet the Corn Hill Navigation Team-Crew Member Debbie Gruber
Cruising on the beautiful Genesee River and Erie Canal, meeting new people, and telling them about our great city, are part of the job for deckhand, Debbie Gruber. In her two seasons with Corn Hill Navigation, Debbie has welcomed passengers aboard Riverie and continues to delight them with stories about Rochester’s rich history vis-à-vis the Genesee River and Erie Canal. As a resident of Corn Hill, and a board member of the Corn Hill Neighbors Association, she is one of CHN’s biggest cheerleaders.
Debbie is a retired occupational therapist, having worked at School of the Holy Childhood and Jewish Home of Rochester. She is a percussionist with the New Horizons Symphonic Band; and in her leisure time, enjoys reading, gardening, walking her dog, and playing with her “beautiful” five grandchildren.
