Meet the Corn Hill Navigation Team-featuring Captain Steve Kingdom
Captain Steve has been with Corn Hill Navigation since September 2023. He has a United States Coast Guard-issued 50 GRT Master License; and holds the rank of USPS Junior Navigator, which is the highest educational level a person can achieve in the United States Power Squadron.
“I like being on the water and seeing the enjoyment people get from the cruises,” says Captain Steve. He also praises CHN as a great community organization working to promote the history and resources of the river and canal in our area. He adds, “CHN is also a wonderful group to work for, allowing a flexible work schedule and being very people-oriented.”
A resident of suburban Greece, Captain Steve is retired from the Rochester City School District Central Office. In his spare time, he enjoys sailing with the Genesee Yacht Club on Lake Ontario and playing music with the Kid Kurry Band. He notes, “I have been a working musician for over 50 years.”
Captain Steve’s wife, Marianne, also works for CHN. They have 5 children, and 8 grandchildren ranging in age from 21 to 2 years old.
